O.N.E. Introduces a Healthier and More Environmental Water Bottle

[2009-07-13]O.N.E. World Enterprises, a Los Angeles-based better-for-you beverage company committed to creating healthy drinks, announces the launch of O.N.E. Water, a sustainable alternative to plastic bottled water. With the growing concern about the health risks of bisphenol A (BPA) leaching from plastic as well as the alarming abundance of plastic bottles in landfills, O.N.E. Water offers consumers a healthy, smart, eco-conscious option.

O.N.E. Water is 100% pure, natural spring water packaged in BPA-free Tetra Pak cartons which are made primarily from paper - a renewable resource - that comes from responsibly sourced, well-managed forests where reforestation and biodiversity are actively monitored and maintained. Additionally, Tetra Pak cartons are recyclable (for a list of communities that currently accept cartons for recycling, go to www.recyclecartons.com). Though recycling is the preferred method of disposal, a majority of beverage packages still end up in landfills. However, plastic bottles can take up to 700 years to begin to decompose, while Tetra Pak cartons begin to decompose in only 12 to 15 weeks.

O.N.E. Water is sourced from the Blue Mountain plateau of Eastern Canada, an area that is actively reforested every spring; the trees help minimize evaporation, maintain cold temperatures and keep the aquifer clean. Additionally, O.N.E. has committed to donating 100% of the proceeds of O.N.E. Water to a variety of non-profit organizations. Each year, O.N.E. will select 10-15 non-profits to receive the funds from the sales. The list of charities is far-reaching and ranges from disaster relief to cancer research and education; consumers can get involved by visiting www.onewater.com to vote for their favorite charity.

"We pride ourselves on being a socially and environmentally responsible company, and are extremely proud to offer consumers an alternative to plastic bottled water," says Rodrigo Veloso, founder and CEO of O.N.E. "We also feel passionately that giving back to the community is a necessary, important part of building a successful business and we are thrilled to have that opportunity with O.N.E. Water."

O.N.E. is known widely for their number-one selling beverage, O.N.E. Coconut Water, which leads the coconut water market share in both the natural channel (SPINS data) and the conventional channel (IRI data). The company's family of products, all packaged in BPA-free Tetra Pak cartons and available in health food and grocery stores nationwide, also includes O.N.E. Amazon Acai, O.N.E. Cashew Fruit, and O.N.E. Coffee Fruit drink.

O.N.E. Water is available starting this summer in 16.9 oz. Tetra Paks at stores nationwide (retail price $1.49-$1.79). O.N.E. Water also is available on onedrinks.com and amazon.com.
