QSR/FPI Foodservice Packaging Awards 2008

General Criteria
  1. Packaging must serve as a single-use package used or sold in the foodservice industry.
  2. Package must currently be in use and sold or placed in the foodservice industry on or after January 1, 2007.
Rules and Guidelines
  1. All entries must be postmarked or submitted electronically by July 18, 2008.
  2. Only 35 entries will be accepted per category.
  3. No package may be entered in more than three categories.
  4. Entries from prior QSR/FPI Foodservice Packaging Awards Competitions are not eligible to compete in the 2008 program unless there has been a substantial change in the design of the package (e.g., material, features, function, etc.).
  5. Judges will have the right to disqualify any entry as appropriate.
  6. All entries must be made by a representative of a foodservice packaging manufacturing company, design firm, or restaurant brand or other foodservice operation.
  7. All entries must be accompanied by two (2) product samples.
  8. Separate entry forms and category forms must be completed for each entry.
  9. Please submit 2 copies of every non-electronic entry form.
  10. Please include set-up instructions for any packaging that requires assembly.
  11. Please feel free to include any promotional materials/ads that feature your packaging and would be relevant and beneficial to your submission.
  12. All entries become property of QSR and its publisher, Journalistic, Inc., and the Foodservice Packaging Institute, Inc., and will not be returned.
Judging
  1. Winners in each category will be notified by phone that they have won—though they won’t be informed specifically what they have won—so that they may attend the awards dinner that will be held in conjunction with the Foodservice Packaging Institute’s Board of Directors meeting on October 15, 2008 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
  2. Results of the QSR/FPI Foodservice Packaging Awards program will be published in the November 2008 issue of QSR magazine.
  3. The judging panel will be comprised of qualified experts in design, merchandising, manufacturing, and product stewardship, including, but not limited to, personnel from the nation’s packaging schools, trade organizations, and foodservice operators.
