Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza announced that it has signed agreements with four separate franchise groups to develop a total of 31 Blaze Pizza restaurants in Houston, Texas, Baltimore Maryland, Washington D.C., Rapid City, South Dakota, and Ontario/Riverside, California. With the addition of these four area development agreements, Blaze Pizza now has 20 franchise groups under contract to develop a total of 172 restaurants in 14 states and Washington DC.
Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza announced the appointment of Jim Mizes as president and chief operating officer. In this role, Mizes will be responsible for leading the ongoing national expansion of Blaze Pizza.

Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza announced that an affiliate of Levy Family Partners has signed an agreement to develop 15 franchise stores in Chicago and 10 franchise stores in Miami. Levy Family Partners was established by entrepreneur Larry Levy, founder and chairman of Levy Restaurants, as the holding company for his family’s investments in restaurants, hotels, real estate, and other ventures. The first Blaze Pizza restaurants are scheduled to open in Chicago and Miami before the end of the year, with additional locations scheduled to open in 2014.
Fast-casual restaurants were once able to claim premium food, modern décor, and all-around upscale service as hallmarks of their category. But with more quick-service chains retooling in those areas to compete for post-recession consumers, fast casuals have been left to search for new ways to differentiate their brands.
For many, that search has turned up something typically better suited to fine- and casual-dining joints: booze.
Blaze Pizza, a fast-casual, build-your-own pizza brand, announced that LA Metro Blaze Pizza Holding Co LLC has signed an agreement to open 20 franchise stores in the greater Los Angeles area over the next five years. In addition, Blaze Pizza announced that three Los Angeles area restaurant leases have been signed in Torrance, La Canada, and Culver City, California, for new stores that will open this summer. Blaze Pizza now has seven franchise groups developing 56 stores in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Wisconsin, and California, with plans to grow to all major metro markets by 2014.
Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza announces that Green Brook, NJ-based AMPAL Group has signed an agreement to develop ten franchise stores in Central and Northern New Jersey. The first New Jersey restaurant is expected to open later this year in a location that has not yet been announced.
Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza, a leader in the fast-casual, build-your-own-pizza category, announced that Lessing’s Hospitality Group, one of New York’s leading restaurant and catering companies, has signed an agreement to develop 10 franchise stores in the New York Metro area, Long Island, Westchester, and Rockland counties, as well as in southern Connecticut.
This most recent agreement brings Blaze Pizza’s total number of franchise stores under development to 24 locations, with several planned to open this spring.
Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza, a leader in the fast-casual build-your-own pizza category, announced that Walch Hospitality Group, led by John Walch, has signed an agreement to develop six franchise stores in Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin.
The new Wisconsin stores are part of a development plan to build a concentration of Blaze Pizza restaurants in the Midwest that will include the neighboring states of Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan.
The first Wisconsin location is scheduled to open in Milwaukee this summer in a location that has not yet been announced.
Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza, a pioneer of the fast-casual build-your-own artisan pizza category, announces that the company will soon open a location in Rolling Hills Plaza at 2625 Pacific Coast Highway in Torrance, California. Scheduled to open in late May, the new 70-seat, 2,500 square foot Blaze Pizza location will feature a “casually hip” design along with its signature assembly line format and blazing-hot open-hearth oven.
