DQ Grills and Chills in Mobile, AL

The Dairy Queen system announced the opening of two DQ Grill & Chill restaurants in Mobile, Alabama, the first located across from the University of South Alabama and the second at 1354 Government Street. These locations are the newest Dairy Queen restaurants in a family of more than 6,300 restaurants world-wide committed to offering every fan a place where they can relax and share a great meal and one-of-a-kind soft serve treats.

Dairy Queen Pits Fall Pie Treats in Battle of Flavor

As the fall season kicks off with college and professional football rivalries, the Dairy Queen system, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is launching a different kind of competition this September.

Beginning September 2, the Dairy Queen system will introduce an Apple Pie Blizzard Treat as the September Blizzard of the Month and bring back fan favorite, the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard Treat, in a battle of two of America’s most popular pie flavors.

DQ to Again Support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

The Dairy Queen system is celebrating a 30-year partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals), during which time local restaurants have raised more than $100 million for local hospitals, with the Ninth Annual Miracle Treat Day set for August 14 at participating Dairy Queen locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Dairy Queen Opens 1st Location in Manhattan

On May 29, Dairy Queen Grill & Chill opened in its first restaurant in Manhattan, New York City.

DQ Launches Orange Julius Treat for Teachers Contest

 

National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5–9, but the Dairy Queen system is extending the celebration throughout the month of May with the return of the Orange Julius Treat for Teachers essay contest, presented by Orange Julius at DQ. The second annual contest gives teachers an opportunity to receive funding for classroom supplies just in time for the new school year.

Dairy Queen Sets Sights on New York City

After a successful entry into the state of New York with a unit in Long Island, Dairy Queen is set to open its Grill & Chill concept in Manhattan this spring. Located on West 14th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues, this DQ Grill & Chill will also be the brand’s first two-story restaurant.

“It’s an iconic market,” says John Gainor, CEO of International Dairy Queen Corp. “We have not have not had a Dairy Queen presence in Manhattan, and like many things, the opportunity is the result of the timing of having the right concept and the right operator or franchisee.”
