No Kid Hungry's Quick-Serve Partners Raise Big Bucks

Every September, restaurant brands big and small rally to support Share Our Strength’s “Dine Out for No Kid Hungry” campaign, raising funds to support the nonprofit’s effort to eradicate childhood hunger. This year, the campaign drew more support from the quick-service segment than ever.

DQ Unveils November Blizzard of the Month

Fall is in full swing this November and the Dairy Queen system is celebrating with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Blizzard Treat, as the Blizzard of the Month for November.

Milk chocolate Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are blended with DQ vanilla soft serve. The Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups Blizzard Treat is the featured Blizzard Treat in November and is available in four sizes, including the Mini, as well as in a waffle cone.

DQ Features Pumpkin Pie as Blizzard of the Month

The Dairy Queen system is planning a spooktacular celebration to kick off the fall season with the fan favorite Pumpkin Pie Blizzard Treat as the featured Blizzard of the Month for October.

A combination of pumpkin pie and crunchy pie pieces blended with DQ vanilla soft serve, the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard Treat is available now through October 27 at participating Dairy Queen and DQ Grill & Chill restaurants nationwide. The Pumpkin Pie Blizzard Treat comes in four sizes, including the popular Mini, and also can be served in a waffle cone.

Beyond Pumpkin

Sure, pumpkin is king of the fall. But brands have other tricks up their sleeve this fall season.
Fast food brands jump on board pumpking flavor trend with innovative menu items.
Au Bon Pain's fall menu is comprised of a Pumpkin Croissant, Pumpkin CroisBun, Caramel Apple Bar, Pumpkin Pie Latte, and Oven Hot Turkey & Cheddar on 9-Grain Cranberry Ciabatta sandwich.

Pumpkin has long reigned as king of the fall, but this year, limited-service brands are not just adding a pumpkin pastry and calling it a season. Instead, several quick-service and fast-casual concepts introduced non-pumpkin products and innovative spins on the pumpkin flavor, while also launching creative marketing campaigns to bring customers in the door.

DQ Grills and Chills in Mobile, AL

The Dairy Queen system announced the opening of two DQ Grill & Chill restaurants in Mobile, Alabama, the first located across from the University of South Alabama and the second at 1354 Government Street. These locations are the newest Dairy Queen restaurants in a family of more than 6,300 restaurants world-wide committed to offering every fan a place where they can relax and share a great meal and one-of-a-kind soft serve treats.

Industry “Dines Out” for a Cause

Share Our Strength’s “Dine Out for No Kid Hungry” campaign kicks off with more quick-serve partners.

One in five children go hungry in the U.S. each day. It was that stat, as well as a childhood spent among those below the poverty line, that convinced Monte Jump, Back Yard Burger’s chief operations and marketing officer, to get his brand involved in Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry platform for the first time this year.

Dairy Queen Pits Fall Pie Treats in Battle of Flavor

As the fall season kicks off with college and professional football rivalries, the Dairy Queen system, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is launching a different kind of competition this September.

Beginning September 2, the Dairy Queen system will introduce an Apple Pie Blizzard Treat as the September Blizzard of the Month and bring back fan favorite, the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard Treat, in a battle of two of America’s most popular pie flavors.

DQ to Again Support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

The Dairy Queen system is celebrating a 30-year partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals), during which time local restaurants have raised more than $100 million for local hospitals, with the Ninth Annual Miracle Treat Day set for August 14 at participating Dairy Queen locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.
