Del Taco Makes a Splash with Return of Crispy Shrimp

Back by popular demand, beginning February 6, Del Taco will offer its crispy shrimp in either a taco or burrito for a limited time. Both Del Taco’s Crispy Shrimp Taco and Burrito feature crispy shrimp, cabbage, pico de gallo salsa, and Del Taco’s secret sauce. The burrito adds lime rice, and the tacos are served with a lime wedge. For a limited time, guests can purchase two Crispy Shrimp Tacos for $4 and two guest-favorite Beer Battered Fish Tacos for $3.50.

Fish Consulting LLC, a full-service national communications firm specializing in franchise marketing and public relations, announced Del Taco, a Mexican quick-serve chain, joined its growing roster of partners. 

Del Taco enlisted Fish Consulting to help increase national awareness of its franchise opportunities, provide strategic recruitment marketing support, and assist with collateral development. Fish joins Del Taco’s current roster of agency partners, with a specialization in franchisee recruitment.

The limited-service restaurant industry is cashing in on diners’ New Year’s resolutions for healthy eating in a big way. At bagel concept Einstein Bros. Bagels, for example, January 1 marked renewed focus on the brand’s Smart Choices menu, which boasts a selection of better-for-you alternatives with less than 350 calories and 15 grams of fat.

Del Taco Offers New, Lean Turkey Tacos

Del Taco introduces Turkey Tacos, making the company one of the first Mexican fast food chains to offer ground turkey as a protein option. Del Taco’s Turkey Tacos feature lean, seasoned ground turkey that has 33 percent less fat than its seasoned beef yet offers the same flavor. Each Turkey Taco has only 150 calories. Del Taco is also offering a Turkey CrunchTada Tostada, an extension of the company’s popular CrunchTada product line.

Del Taco Debuts First of 25 San Antonio Units

Continuing its march across Texas, Del Taco announced the opening of its first of 25 locations planned for San Antonio.

The new San Antonio restaurant will open on Wednesday, September 4.

The new Del Taco features a 70-seat dining room, a salsa bar, and a drive thru that will be open 24 hours. This restaurant will serve breakfast from 11p.m. to 11 a.m. and will offer free WiFi in the dining room.

New Del Taco Franchisees to Help Push Brand East

Setting the stage for its latest growth surge, Del Taco now has seven new franchise groups committed to developing 39 new restaurants across the country, including in Central California, Colorado, Georgia, New Mexico, South Carolina, and Texas. Simultaneously, the company announced five new markets for multiunit development and a search for new franchise partners.

The news comes as Del Taco continues its ambitious growth beyond its Southern California roots to new markets to the East with new franchisees as well as new company restaurants.
