Del Taco Inks Development Deal in Fort Worth

Del Taco announced today that it has signed a three-unit development deal with DT Restaurants of Texas.

The first Del Taco location will be at Hawk’s Creek Center, 520 State Highway 183 in Fort Worth, and is expected to open in April.

This latest announcement is part of the continuing expansion of the popular chain into the Dallas/Fort Worth market. In 2010, Del Taco announced plans to expand in the market with approximately 80 restaurants.

Six Company-Owned Del Tacos Acquired by AZ Franchisee

In a strategic move that bolsters franchisee leadership in Arizona, Del Taco announced that Desert Taco, its largest franchisee in Arizona, acquired the company’s remaining six Phoenix locations.

Lead by Brent Veach, Desert Taco presently owns and operates 14 Del Taco restaurants and will bring its total ownership to 20 of the area’s 26 locations with this acquisition. Desert Taco opened its first Del Taco in 1999 and opened eight more restaurants over the next nine years. Three years ago, Desert Taco acquired additional locations to reach a total of 14 restaurants.

Taco Lovers Rejoice at Del Taco’s Tacoberfest

Del Taco restaurants across the country are putting a spin on one of Germany’s most famous events–Oktoberfest. Beginning on National Taco Day, October 4, and lasting until October 31, Del Taco will offer taco specials all day, every day for a month-long celebration worthy of tacos–Tacoberfest.

At the center of Del Taco’s Tacoberfest is the Taco Deluxe with five layers of fresh flavor including seasoned beef, freshly grated cheddar cheese, crisp lettuce, sour cream, and pico de gallo.

New Del Taco LTO Throws Back to Mexican Tradition

Shredded Pork Carnitas is available now for a limited time at Del Taco, offering fans the savory taste of tender, slow-braised pork that is simmered in small batch kettles as found in the cooking methods of the traditional Mexican kitchen.

Shredded Pork Carnitas menu items include Carnitas Combo Burrito, Carnitas Taco al Carbon, and Carnitas Macho Nachos, as a la carte items and meals.

Del Taco Keeps Growing in Colorado

In the past six months, Del Taco has doubled its number of restaurants in Colorado Springs. On August 25 at 11 a.m., the fourth Colorado Springs Del Taco will open at 8020 N. Academy Drive.

The new restaurant is owned by franchisee Mountain Del LLC, which also owns and operates the other three Colorado Springs locations as well as Del Taco restaurants in Denver.

"Consumers in Colorado Springs are hungry for the food and value that Del Taco serves up every day, and we are thrilled to open our fourth restaurant in this community," says Rod Carstensen, franchise owner.

Del Taco to Upgrade Stores with New Design, Salsa Bar

Del Taco’s long-time customers are well aware of the quick-service chain’s value, freshness, and food preparation, from its grilled chicken to freshly made beans.

Now, the Lake Forest, California-based restaurant chain is spelling out those attributes as part of the company’s new prototype store designs and updated logo.

The updated stores feature brighter colors, salsa bars, along with short statement signs inside and outside the restaurant that extol the chain’s emphasis on freshness, such “Chicken Grilled Here” and “Beans Slow Cooked Here.”

Del Taco Debuts New Stores, Logo

Del Taco has a new logo and is testing a new restaurant prototype.  

After months of research, both are making their first appearance together at new locations in Los Angeles and Irvine, California, as well as Irving and McKinney, Texas.

The company’s new logo will be phased in through marketing and advertising efforts beginning in Q4 while the new store prototype will be evaluated and refined over the next few quarters.

New Face at Top of Del Taco's Franchise Team

Michael Vogel has been named vice president of franchise sales for Del Taco, effective immediately.  In his new role, Vogel oversees franchise sales and market planning for the nation’s No. 2 Mexican quick-serve chain.

Reporting to Del Taco's chief development officer Jim Lyons, Vogel directs a team responsible for franchise recruitment, development, market planning, and meeting the company's goals for new franchise restaurant openings.
