Del Taco restaurants across the country are putting a spin on one of Germany’s most famous events–Oktoberfest. Beginning on National Taco Day, October 4, and lasting until October 31, Del Taco will offer taco specials all day, every day for a month-long celebration worthy of tacos–Tacoberfest.
At the center of Del Taco’s Tacoberfest is the Taco Deluxe with five layers of fresh flavor including seasoned beef, freshly grated cheddar cheese, crisp lettuce, sour cream, and pico de gallo.
It’s true that different brands excel at different things, be it in the area of nutritional offerings, customer service, or speed.
It’s true, too, with drive-thru service; some brands perform better than the rest. And this year the QSR Drive-Thru Performance Study focuses on seven brands as a benchmark group that have consistently, year after year, risen to the top of the heap in drive-thru performance.
Drive-thru performance was first studied in 1998 to gauge the speed and accuracy of fast feeders and encourage the industry to improve its service. And improve it did:
Shredded Pork Carnitas is available now for a limited time at Del Taco, offering fans the savory taste of tender, slow-braised pork that is simmered in small batch kettles as found in the cooking methods of the traditional Mexican kitchen.
Shredded Pork Carnitas menu items include Carnitas Combo Burrito, Carnitas Taco al Carbon, and Carnitas Macho Nachos, as a la carte items and meals.
In the past six months, Del Taco has doubled its number of restaurants in Colorado Springs. On August 25 at 11 a.m., the fourth Colorado Springs Del Taco will open at 8020 N. Academy Drive.
The new restaurant is owned by franchisee Mountain Del LLC, which also owns and operates the other three Colorado Springs locations as well as Del Taco restaurants in Denver.
"Consumers in Colorado Springs are hungry for the food and value that Del Taco serves up every day, and we are thrilled to open our fourth restaurant in this community," says Rod Carstensen, franchise owner.
Del Taco’s long-time customers are well aware of the quick-service chain’s value, freshness, and food preparation, from its grilled chicken to freshly made beans.
Now, the Lake Forest, California-based restaurant chain is spelling out those attributes as part of the company’s new prototype store designs and updated logo.
The updated stores feature brighter colors, salsa bars, along with short statement signs inside and outside the restaurant that extol the chain’s emphasis on freshness, such “Chicken Grilled Here” and “Beans Slow Cooked Here.”
Del Taco has a new logo and is testing a new restaurant prototype.
After months of research, both are making their first appearance together at new locations in Los Angeles and Irvine, California, as well as Irving and McKinney, Texas.
The company’s new logo will be phased in through marketing and advertising efforts beginning in Q4 while the new store prototype will be evaluated and refined over the next few quarters.
Michael Vogel has been named vice president of franchise sales for Del Taco, effective immediately. In his new role, Vogel oversees franchise sales and market planning for the nation’s No. 2 Mexican quick-serve chain.
Reporting to Del Taco's chief development officer Jim Lyons, Vogel directs a team responsible for franchise recruitment, development, market planning, and meeting the company's goals for new franchise restaurant openings.
Fans of Del Taco’s fresh-cooked, grilled marinated chicken will find a special treat—times eight—in the new Ultimate Grilled Chicken Burrito, which is making its debut.
Ingredients include grilled chicken that has been marinated in a special recipe of spices and seasonings, zesty red sauce, seasoned rice, crisp lettuce, freshly grated cheddar cheese, fresh tomatoes, cool sour cream, and tangy guacamole all wrapped in a warm flour tortilla.
Del Taco recognized the achievements of several franchise owners and the brand’s founder at its recent franchisee conference. Awards were presented to the developer of the year, franchise operator of less than three units, and a multi-unit operator.
