Dickey's Sees Sweet End to Social Media Campaign

To kick off the new year, Dickey’s Barbecue launched a social media campaign that asked fans to Tweet their favorite meat. The social campaign, #SpicyorSweet, garnered over 5,000 votes via Twitter and put fans in the running to win free barbecue for an entire year. Today, the barbecue chain announced the winner of the campaign and results of the vote.

 

Dickey's Lays Plans for Seven Stores this Year

One of the nation’s largest barbecue franchises is expanding its reach in the Omaha market. With the first area location opened earlier this month by franchisee Joe Nguyen, Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants has plans to expand with seven additional locations slated to open later this year.

Building a reliable workforce is essential to success in the quick-serve business, as is connecting with the local community through socially conscious means.

At least one franchisee is killing those two birds with one stone by integrating his hiring process with his charitable work. A Wisconsin-based Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is employing interns through a nearby program that gives students with intellectual disabilities (ID) hands-on work experience.

Dickey’s Barbecue, Texas Pete Partner for New Menu Items

Dickey’s Barbecue is adding some heat to its menu thanks to a new partnership with Texas Pete Hot Sauce. In 2014, the barbecue chain will team up with the hot sauce brand for new menu items.

Dickey's Rings in Largest Sales Day in History

For Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants Inc. the holiday season is off to a great start. One of the nation’s largest barbecue brands achieved one-day sales of over one million dollars the day before Thanksgiving. In addition, sales exceeded a 50.1 percent increase year over year for the week of Thanksgiving with over 19,000 holiday turkeys and hams sold system wide.

 

Dickey’s Partners with Hope for the Brave

Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants Inc. announced a partnership with Hope for the Brave, a North Texas organization focused on building awareness and facilitating collaborations in housing, healthcare, education, and employment for veterans re-entering the community.  Dickey’s Barbecue will be giving 10 percent of all sales of local whole meats and holiday meals to Hope for the Brave during November and December.

Dickey’s Beefs Up Catering Sales

Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants Inc. beefed up catering sales efforts by introducing a national catering hotline. The Dickey’s Barbecue national hotline announced sales from this new channel have surged over the $5 million mark and continue to break monthly sales records, making Dickey’s one of the number one barbecue catering service in the nation.

 

Dickey’s Barbecue Brings In First-Ever CIO

Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants announced Brian Maupin as the company’s first chief information officer.

The former AT&T executive was selected for the newly created role to lead Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants to the front of the restaurant industry through technology innovations and advanced analytical techniques.
