Miami tops QSR’s fourth annual Growth 40 report, claiming the first spot among the nation’s largest markets, while Austin, Texas, and Palm Springs, California, earn top honors among medium and small markets, respectively.

Dunkin’ Donuts Plans Opening at Northwestern University

Dunkin’ Donuts announced plans to open a restaurant in Norris Center on the Northwestern University campus in Evanston, Illinois.

The new restaurant, scheduled to open in the spring of 2014, will be owned and operated by Sodexo, which is a food services and facilities management multinational corporation headquartered in France. Sodexo operates more than a dozen Dunkin’ Donuts locations in the U.S.

Dunkin’ Donuts launched a new DD Perks Rewards program, offering guests nationwide points toward free Dunkin’ Donuts beverages for every visit they make at participating Dunkin’ Donuts locations. By early February, the DD Perks program will be fully integrated into the Dunkin’ Mobile App for mobile payment.

Q: What does it take for a quick-service brand to become a great brand?

A: I get this question all the time. Many people look at superstar brands like Apple, Southwest Airlines, and Nike and mistakenly conclude those companies achieved their successes as a result of good timing, great advertising, or just plain luck. But I’ve found that these companies have employed specific, somewhat surprising, techniques that have turned them into industry icons.

Dunkin’ Donuts Inks Deal for 13 Units in Oklahoma City

Dunkin’ Donuts announced the signing of a multiunit store development agreement with existing franchise group, OKD Holdings, to develop 13 new restaurants throughout Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The first of the planned restaurants will open in 2015.

The team, led by second generation Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee Misha Goli and his partners, will manage and oversee the company’s daily operations for each restaurant. Goli currently owns four restaurants throughout Oklahoma City and has a vast knowledge of the quick-serve industry.
