Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers announces a special promotion celebrating the company’s co-founder, namesake, and true American hero, Freddy Simon. In honor of Freddy’s 88th birthday, single custard cones or dishes are available for 88 cents at participating Freddy’s locations nationwide.
With rights for more than 400 new franchise stores slated for development by existing franchisees in the next 15 years, Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has selected Max Sheets to join the team in its newly created position of vice president of real estate.

"Max has 30 years of experience in restaurant real estate development, and we look forward to his perspective on the team.
With marketing and advertising proving more challenging for quick-serve restaurants in the age of social and digital media, some brands are looking to a retail-based approach to get their name out: merchandising.
“I think merchandise is an excellent idea,” says Jonathan Raduns, food-merchandising consultant at National Restaurant Consultants in Denver.
After months of great anticipation, shovels have dug in and construction is underway at a totally new site for Freddy's in Joplin, Missouri.
The prototype, free-standing building with a drive thru will replace the original in-line Freddy's location, which was destroyed by the May 2011 tornado.
With new-store growth predicted to continue its rapid pace over the next decade, Freddy’s home office team is preparing with a new headquarters building and the promotion of several key staff members. In addition, the company has created and filled several new positions to support the expanding franchise base.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has the look and feel of a mid-20th century hamburger joint, despite having recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.
“We tried to give Freddy’s a ’40s and ’50s type of look and feel and convey the values of that time period,” says Freddy’s CEO Bill Simon.
Only a decade has passed since Freddy's first location opened in August of 2002. Now, the quick-service restaurant that specializes in cooked-to-order steakburgers and premium frozen custard treats, will open the doors of its ninth company-owned and 75th nationwide location in Olathe, Kansas.
The company's namesake, Freddy Simon, will join in the opening day festivities on Wednesday, October 10, and greet guests from 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
Freddy's first location opened on August 26, 2002, with an unassuming outlook and only one mission--to serve high-quality steakburgers like Freddy enjoyed growing up on a Kansas farm.
"My dad raised Angus beef, and steakburgers were a staple in our house," says company co-founder and namesake Freddy Simon. "My sons, Bill and Randy, and their partner Scott Redler created a concept my dad would be proud of, and our commitment to quality and small-town hospitality reflects the values he instilled in me and my siblings when we were kids.
Quick-serve and fast-casual restaurants are meeting today’s demand for variety head-on, but they’re not just doing it with menu diversification. Some are providing customers with greater selections in the condiments they offer, allowing guests to customize their own meal with expansive condiment bars.
And it’s not just a rote selection they’re offering, either; these are top-notch products, since it seems traditional line-ups of mustard, mayo, ketchup, and ranch dressing simply don’t, well, cut the mustard anymore.
