Garbanzo Named Denver's Best Healthy 3rd Straight Year

Denver-based Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill, a fast-casual restaurant concept offering healthy and fresh Mediterranean cuisine, was voted 2012 “Best Healthy Lunch” in the Cheap Eats section of CityVoter’s “Denver A-List.”

This is the third consecutive year Garbanzo has earned this title.

Over the course of eight weeks, Denver A-List voters selected their favorite local businesses, places, and personalities.

With more than 57,000 voters, Denver A-List nominees received more than 158,000 votes. 

Garbanzo Takes Root in California

Denver-based Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill, a fast-casual restaurant concept offering fresh, authentic, and healthy Mediterranean food, announced the awarding of franchise development rights to franchisee Banzo Bean, Inc. 

With the rights to develop up to 10 restaurants in Orange County, California, Banzo Bean, Inc. is scheduled to open its initial location in the first quarter of 2013.

Areas of interest include Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa, Seal Beach, and Aliso Viejo, California. 

Garbanzo Brings Healthy Living to the Streets

Denver-based Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill and LiveWell Colorado have partnered to bring The Bean Tube Experiment to Colorado.

An experiential promotional campaign aimed at helping Coloradans lead a healthier and more active lifestyle, the project consists of 5-foot tubes filled with Garbanzo beans placed around four major Colorado cities.

The tubes carry various wellness messages and QR codes that link to a microsite, where visitors find more information about eating and healthy living, as well as a Garbanzo offer.

Garbanzo Signs Franchise Deal in Oklahoma

Denver-based Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill, a fast-casual restaurant concept featuring a fresh, authentic, and healthy Mediterranean menu, announced today the awarding of franchise development rights to Oklahoma-based franchisee GMG Oklahoma, LLC. 

With the rights to develop up to 10 restaurants in Oklahoma, GMG Oklahoma is scheduled to open its first location on the Northwest Expressway in Oklahoma City this October. It plans to immediately move forward with additional metro locations, focusing initially on Edmond and Norman.

Garbanzo Comes to the Rescue of Colorado Wildfire Victims

Through the help and generosity of its guests, Denver-based Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill donated more than 500 pounds of nonperishable food items to Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado and the Fort Collins Foothills Mall Fire Relief Center for victims of the Colorado wildfires that raged throughout the state earlier this summer.

Food collection bins were placed in all 14 Colorado Garbanzo restaurants for two weeks. Guests who brought in a nonperishable item received 10 percent off their purchase at the time of donation.

Kabobs, Hibiscus Mango Iced Tea Join Menu at Garbanzo

Denver-based Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill announced today the addition of Kabobs and Hibiscus Mango Iced Tea Fusion to its menu selection.

Kabobs can be ordered as a platter entrée or as an added skewer to any entrée. Each Kabob Platter consists of two skewers of red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and red onion, along with a choice of chicken, steak, or Portobello mushroom, each seasoned with Garbanzo’s house-made marinade. The skewers sit atop a bed of rice and are served with hummus, vegetable salad, and a choice of fresh baked white or wheat pita.

Garbanzo Announces First Texas Franchisee

Denver-based Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill today announced the awarding of a franchise opportunity to Texas-based franchisee Blue Jean Food Group (BJFG). 

Opening Garbanzo locations in the San Antonio and Austin, BJFG has rights to develop up to 15 restaurants. The first location is slated to open in San Antonio in late summer 2012.

Garbanzo Goes Compostable With Plates, Recyclable Lids

Denver-based Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill, a fast-casual restaurant concept specializing in quality Mediterranean cuisine, announced today the introduction of compostable entrée plates and Level 1 recyclable plate lids as part of its ongoing eco-friendly initiative.

The 24-ounce entrée plates are made from bamboo pulp and are similar in size to the restaurant concept’s previous plates. A Level 1 recyclable, the new plate lids are made with the most commonly recycled plastic.
