Gold Star Chili of Cincinnati announces the launch of a new catering division, offering three ways to add local flavor to any kind of event.
“In the past, Gold Star Chili has offered catering services upon request,” says Charlie Howard, Gold Star Chili’s vice president of marketing and brand development. “This current initiative formalizes catering as a separate corporate division with a newly hired catering coordinator and trained staff.”

With the Lenten season upon us, Gold Star Chili, the Flavor of Cincinnati, wants to remind chili lovers that there are two ways to enjoy a Cincinnati-style 3-Way; the regular way (spaghetti topped with chili and shredded cheddar cheese) and the veggie way.
Gold Star Chili, “The Flavor of Cincinnati,” has added a new flavor, Cookies & Cream, to its line up of hand-blended milkshakes, made with real, premium ice cream.
“Of the dozen or so special flavors and add-ins that we taste-tested with consumers, Cookies & Cream was the favorite by far,” says Charlie Howard, Gold Star Chili vice president of marketing & brand development.
The 20-oz. milkshakes feature a vanilla ice cream with real Oreo cookies hand-blended in real cream whipped topping.
For a limited time only (through June 5, 2011) Gold Star Chili, “The Flavor of Cincinnati,” has added a hot and spicy new variation of the classic Cincinnati-style cheese coney to its menu: The Hot Mett Cheese Coney.
The Hot Mett Cheese Coney features a hot mettwurst, Gold Star’s famous Cincinnati-style chili, “Firehouse” sriracha sauce, and special hot jalapeño cheese, all on a soft steamed bun.

Gold Star Chili Manufacturing Group has specific expertise from within its chili commissary to produce chili, soups, stews, and other food that requires kettle cooking.
Gold Star Chili, “The Flavor of Cincinnati,” announced a new community involvement initiative as a result of a partnership with the nonprofit The Cure Starts Now Foundation.
The first of several fundraising initiatives is an in-store donation campaign that encourages Gold Star customers to “Drop A Dollar” in collection boxes located at the cash registers of all area Gold Star restaurants. The campaign will launch February 14 and run for two months, with pro bono media support from Norton Outdoor Advertising and 700 WLW.
Gold Star Chili announced the addition of two new items to its menu: Cincinnati-style burritos and burrito bowls. Both items have been tested in select stores over the past several months and based on their sales success, Gold Star will introduce them as permanent menu items with a new promotional campaign that begins January 10.
