Selecting a cause that connects not only with consumers, but also with people within the company, is a critical element of the corporate giving strategy at Arby’s. This led the roast beef chain to develop a relationship with Share Our Strength’s “No Kid Hungry” program, which works to end childhood hunger in America, as part of its Arby’s Foundation.

In many respects, Cinnabon isn’t the brand it was just one decade ago. From the company’s growing beverage line to menu introductions like Center of the Roll and Cinnabon Stix, life within a Cinnabon’s four walls has shifted in the 21st century.

But executives realized a few years ago that the look of Cinnabon’s stores hadn’t similarly changed with the times. The brand’s so-called “heritage” look—a tile-dominated space outlined in blonde wood—had become dated and uninspired, lacking pop and contemporary charisma.

Hungry Howie's Goes Pink for Nat'l Breast Cancer Foundation

Madison Heights, Michigan-based Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs will join the fight against breast cancer this October with its Love, Hope & Pizza campaign.

For every pizza purchased, Hungry Howie's will make a donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Hungry Howie's has raised almost $500,000 for the foundation over the last three years. For its fourth year in the campaign, Hungry Howie's hopes to raise more than $250,000. 

This year, Hungry Howie's Pizza--the originator of the Flavored Crust Pizza--has added a new tag line: "Hope comes in many flavors."

Hungry Howie’s held its annual national convention from May 15-17 to recognize the best of the best in the company’s stores and franchisees.

The Franchisee of the Year Award went to Don Copus for best embracing Hungry Howie’s brand concept and philosophy. Copus also earned the Highest Percent of Sales Increase Award for his store in River Rouge, Michigan.

Hungry Howie’s Satiates Appetite With Sales Growth

While restaurants and pizza stores across the country are struggling, Hungry Howie’s Pizza, one of the nation’s largest pizza franchises and the originator of the Flavored Crust Pizza, has announced sales growth in the first half of 2011. First quarter same-store sales for Hungry Howie’s were up by 6.72 percent and second quarter same-store sales were up by 7.57 percent.
