Newk’s Eatery Hires Two Support Center Team Members

Newk’s Eatery announced the hire of two new support center team members, who will assist in the national expansion of the brand.

After nine years in business, the restaurant concept is rapidly growing, with 12 new restaurant locations planned to open before the end of 2013.

Gary Brem, a 34-year foodservice construction veteran, has been named director of development, and Klara Smith, a 15-year legal industry professional, has been chosen as the company’s general counsel.

Newk’s Eatery will be launching two new limited time offers: a buffalo chicken sandwich and an arugula salmon salad. These options will be added to Newk’s already delicious offerings of healthy salads, California- style pizzas, specialty sandwiches and hearty soups.

Newk's Unveils Its New Identity in Plano, TX

The dining experience that Newk’s customers know and love won’t be changing, but guests of the popular fresh-casual restaurant chain will soon see a new logo on signage, printed items, and marketing materials.

Additionally, the restaurant will be changing its name from Newk’s Express Café to Newk’s Eatery. The change marks the first revamp to the brand’s name and visual identity since the original restaurant opened in 2004.

Newk’s Springs Into Action With Four LTO Pizzas

This month, Newk’s Express Café launched four new pizza flavors. The pizzas—Salmon, Buffalo Chicken, Steak and Mushroom, and Crawfish—will be available through the spring.

The Salmon pizza features fresh dill, capers, red onion, and a tangy dill sauce.

The Buffalo Chicken pizza has Cheddar, Provolone, celery, and zesty hot sauce.

Grilled portabellas, caramelized onions, and Mozzarella top the Steak and Mushroom pizza, while the Crawfish pizza includes Gouda, Provolone, artichokes, and red and yellow peppers.

Newk’s Digs Into Pair of Mac and Cheese LTOs

Newk’s Express Café has added two new macaroni and cheese dishes to the menu for a limited time. The fast-casual restaurant is offering Four Cheese and Pimiento with Bacon as side dishes or entrees through the spring.

The four-cheese version contains macaroni noodles blended into a combination of Asiago, white Cheddar, Parmesan, and Swiss cheeses and baked to a golden brown.

Pimiento with Bacon is a blend of Asiago, white Cheddar, Parmesan, and Swiss cheeses layered between two layers of Newk’s own Pimiento cheese recipe and topped with bacon.

Newk's Express Cafe Sees Big Year in 2012, Growth in 2013

Newk’s Express Café, which passed 50 total restaurants and entered several new markets in 2012, had a big year.

The fast-casual restaurant is ready to compound on this growth in 2013 with plans to open 10 new locations and sign additional multiunit operators with restaurant experience.

Newk’s also passed $100 million in sales for the first time in 2012.

Newk's Express Café Debuts Fall Soup Schedule

Fall is in the air at Newk’s Express Café, which has launched its new seasonal soup schedule.

The new schedule includes the following soup options: Broccoli Cheese, Chicken Noodle, Tomato Basil, White Bean Chicken Chili, Lobster Bisque, Loaded Potato, Newk’s Signature Chili, Lobster Crab Bisque, Mushroom Bisque, and Ultimate Crab.

Monday and Wednesday feature Broccoli Cheese, Chicken Noodle, and White Bean Chicken Chili, while there is also Tomato Basil on Monday and Ultimate Crab on Wednesday.
