Pie Five, Pizza Inn Parent Changes Name to RAVE

On January 7, Pizza Inn Holdings Inc. changed its name to become RAVE Restaurant Group Inc. The new name and a new “RAVE” trading symbol will be reflected on NASDAQ on January 9. The renamed company includes Pie Five Pizza Co., the fast-casual pizza company, and Pizza Inn, one of the nation’s first dine-in pizza chains.

Pizza Inn Invites Guests to Do the Pepperoni Twist

Pizza Inn is thinking outside the crust this month and introducing a delicious take on some classic favorites with its distinctive new Pepperoni Twists.

Made by wrapping hand-tossed Italian dough around a generous blend of pepperoni and melted Mozzarella, and topped off with a sprinkling of signature Romano and Parmesan magic dust, these creations are the perfect addition to any meal at Pizza Inn.

Pizza Inn Begins 2014 with Record Growth

Flash Market Inc. added to its stable of Pizza Inn franchises in Alabama, Arkansas, and Tennessee by opening four new Pizza Inn Express locations last month. Three are in Arkansas (Brinkley, Trumann, and Wynne). The other is in Clarkton, Missouri.

A fifth Pizza Inn Express, owned by franchisee Yasin Mohammad, began operations in Jarrell, Texas, and Dave Gonzalez opened another unit in late January in Hebbronville, Texas. It was a record number of openings in a single month in recent company history.

During any given year, a restaurant company that records a 50 percent increase in its stock price could expect to crow pretty loudly about the accomplishment. But even that type of gain wasn’t good enough to crack the top 10 among publicly held limited-service restaurant operators in 2013, as equities market soared.

“It’s been a very good year for the market and for many restaurant companies,” says R.J. Hottovy, a dining industry analyst at Chicago’s investment firm Morningstar. “There were some pockets of weakness, but most restaurant [stock] values have had good gains.”

Pizza Inn Opens Free Buffet to Veterans

Many of Pizza Inn’s international restaurants are located near military bases, and this Veterans Day, participating Pizza Inn buffet restaurants across the country are inviting active-duty, reserve, and retired service members to enjoy a buffet on the house. Guests can simply bring a valid government or military ID on Monday, November 11, to receive the offer.
