Fiesta Restaurant Group, Inc., the owner, operator, and franchisor of the Pollo Tropical and Taco Cabana fast-casual restaurant brands, announced today that Lynn Schweinfurth has joined the company as vice president and chief financial officer, effective July 16, 2012. With her appointment, Fiesta has now completed building its senior management team.
Pollo Tropical announced today that the first of five new restaurants planned with franchisee El Machetazo in Panama has opened. This new restaurant is located in the popular Albrook Mall in Panama City, Panama’s largest shopping center.
Pollo Tropical announced the opening of its third franchised restaurant in Caracas, Venezuela, at the Sambil Shopping Center, the fourth-largest mall in South America. This is the third in a 10-unit development agreement with Restaurantes Internacionales C.A.
The Venezuelan-based franchisee has opened two other Pollo Tropical restaurants in Barquisimeto and Punto Fijo since 2010.
Fiesta Restaurant Group, Inc, the parent-owner of the Pollo Tropical and Taco Cabana brands, has named industry veteran John Todd as its chief development officer.
Todd, who will report to Fiesta Restaurant CEO Tim Taft, will be responsible for all facets of Fiesta’s real estate and development, including site selection, design, and construction of new restaurants and the upgrading and re-imaging of existing facilities. In addition, he will work with Taft on various franchise initiatives.
