It’s in with the new at Texas-based Homestyle Dining LLC, parent company of legacy brands Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouse. Company executives unveiled their third restaurant concept in late May, a fast casual known as Bo’s Steak & Grill.
Homestyle Dining LLC, which operates and franchises the Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouse concepts, announced the recipients of its annual franchise and brand support awards. Somewhere between the Wild West of quick serves and fast casuals and the frontier of full-service dining lies a middle ground occupied by family-style hybrids. Two such concepts, longtime American staples Bonanza and Ponderosa, are stampeding ahead of the rest by revitalizing their brands to remain competitive with both sides of the restaurant industry.
Homestyle Dining of Plano, Texas, is the parent company and franchisor for over 200 Ponderosa and Bonanza Steakhouses spread over two continents. Its restaurants use over ten different POS systems on a variety of hardware to collect sales and transaction data.
Ponderosa International Development announced an agreement granting franchise rights in Egypt to Kareem Awny Abdel Dayem. The agreement calls for a minimum of five Ponderosa Steakhouse restaurants to be developed in Egypt.
“We are very excited to enter into this relationship with Kareem, who shares our vision of continuing the growth of Ponderosa Steakhouse restaurants throughout the Middle East and indeed the rest of the world,” says Thomas A. Sacco, president and CEO of Homestyle Dining, parent company of Ponderosa International Development.
