The list of carriers at quick-service restaurants has grown over the past decade. Operators are using various baking styles, ingredients, tastes, and textures—along with assorted sizes and shapes—to differentiate themselves from their competitors.
Quiznos announced the appointment of John Coletta as chief financial officer and James Lyons as chief operating officer.

With the opening of the first of five planned Quiznos Sub restaurants in Paraguay, QSR International continues to expand into South America. The first Quiznos Sub restaurant in Paraguay opened on September 30, 2012, in the new "Shopping Pinedo" mall, located in Asuncion.
With the opening of its fifth Quiznos Sub restaurant in the Dominican Republic, QSR International—a multibrand master franchise quick-serve developer for brands like Quiznos and Teriyaki Experience—continues its aggressive expansion into Latin America and the Caribbean, where it now has 124 total restaurants operating in 14 different countries.
The Dominican Republic restaurant opened on August 28 in the 1,800-seat food court of the Agora Mall, located in the capital city of Santo Domingo.
With the opening of the first of five planned Quiznos Sub restaurants for Guyana, Terrance Campbell, CEO of Camex Restaurants, Inc., QSR’s Quiznos Sub Franchisee in Guyana, says, “the anticipation by the Guyanese people was overwhelming. The product quality is second to none and not matched anywhere in the country.”
Camex Restaurants, a 16-unit multi concept restaurant operator in Guyana, plans to open their second Quiznos Sub restaurant later this year and an additional three Quiznos Sub restaurants in 2013.
Quiznos has designated Tuesday, July 17, as Quiznos Colorado Fire Relief Day. On that day, Quiznos will donate 50 percent of sales reported by participating locations in Colorado to local relief agencies.
More than 40 Colorado stores will be participating, representing all locations in the state except those in airports. The comprehensive donation will be made on behalf of the corporate office and franchise owners.
There’s nothing quite as revitalizing as a cold drink on a hot summer afternoon. These days, however, restaurant guests are looking for more than just refreshment from their cold beverages. They are seeking fewer calories, healthful options, or, perhaps, a jolt of energy.
Cold beverages, particularly carbonated ones, have been part and parcel of quick-service restaurants from the time the first units opened. Coca-Cola, for instance, has been served at White Castle since 1921, the year the business began.
After an extensive bid competition, AERIS, the administrator of the Juan Santamaría International Airport in San Jose Costa Rica, officially announced that food and beverage services at the San Jose Airport, were awarded to Quiznos Sub S.A., a QSR International franchisee and affiliate.
With an initial investment of $4 million, Quiznos Subs S.A. will build five distinct food and beverage areas comprising more than 6,500-square-feet. The brands that Quiznos Subs S.A. will represent and offer to the traveling public in these five areas include the following:
