Togo’s Eateries, Inc. has experienced strong growth this year with the signing of 10 agreements for new restaurants in California, Nevada, and Oregon. Additionally, three new Togo’s have opened thus far in 2012 and are now serving residents in Bend, Oregon, and Lathrop and Mountain View, California.

Togo’s Adds Real Estate Manager to Executive Team

Togo’s Inc. is pleased to announce it has hired Zina Hyman as real estate manager for the company. Hyman most recently served as director of leasing for Dasher Lawless, Inc., a retail, commercial, and residential developer based in Los Angeles.

Togo’s Delivers Fresh Franchise Opportunities in Portland

Togo’s Eateries Inc., a “West Coast Original” since 1971 serving up big, made-to-order sandwiches stuffed with the freshest ingredients, announced today it is targeting Portland, Oregon for franchise expansion.

As part of Togo’s 40-year anniversary, the nearly 250 unit sandwich franchise launched an aggressive growth strategy to enter new cities in key Western states such as Oregon, and is actively recruiting passionate single and multi-unit operators to help grow the brand to 400 restaurants by 2015.

Togo’s Plans 28 Restaurants, Remodeling for 2012

In 2011, Togo’s signed 23 agreements for new restaurants and opened seven new California restaurants, including a new company-owned prototype in Pleasant Hill, California. 

Togo’s Dares Diners With Pastrami Pounder Challenge

Togo’s Sandwiches, a West Coast Original since 1971 serving big, made-to-order sandwiches stuffed with the freshest ingredients, announced they will be holding the “Pastrami Pounder Challenge” in celebration of National Pastrami Day, Saturday, Jan. 14.

Between Jan. 11 – Feb. 21, customers who “pound the Pounder” within the 30-minute timeframe will receive a commemorative Togo’s t-shirt. The Pastrami Pounder is two feet long and features more than a pound of Togo’s premium, hand sliced pastrami.

Food Costs Cramp Menus

Quick-service operators are trying to adapt as commodity costs continue to rise.

Rising commodity costs are threatening to destroy any kind of optimism operators held that they were climbing out of the nation’s economic woes.

The costs present a consistent challenge to Togo’s, for instance, as it plans on opening 50 units in 2012 and develop the franchised concept beyond its 244 stores.

“The rising commodity prices can negatively impact everything we’re trying to do as a brand,” Togo’s vice president of branding and marketing Renae Scott says.
