Beef, pork, poultry, and seafood may be the staples of the limited-service restaurant industry, but non-meat items aren’t taking a back seat on the menu these days. Although vegetarians make up a small percentage of the American dining population, an increasing number of consumers are deciding to eat less meat.

“Ten years ago, it might have seemed like a fad, with just a small population, but it’s been constantly increasing,” says Jesse Gideon, corporate chef and chief operating officer for Fresh To Order, a 10-unit fast-casual chain based in Atlanta.

Uncle Maddio’s Celebrates Celiac Awareness with Dessert

In celebration of National Celiac Awareness Month, Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint added a gluten-free dessert to its menu. Seeing the demand for gluten-free items grow, the company will serve up new desserts for everyone, including a gluten-free oat bar infused with caramel. Uncle Maddio’s already offers gluten-free pizza crust, and many locations also include gluten-free beer options on their beverage menus.

The fast-casual pizza franchise Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint continues expanding across the country with the with the recent signing of a five-unit franchise development agreement for Southeast Alabama. The chain was founded by Matt Andrew, former president and co-founder of Moe’s Southwest Grill.

Uncle Maddio’s Launches Fall LTOs

Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint announced the launch of its fall specialty menu items fusing popular American favorites, pizza and cheeseburgers. The limited time offers include the Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza, the Loaded Baked Potato Pizza, and a traditional French Onion Soup, which are all available at participating locations beginning November 1.

New Uncle Maddio's Deal to Take Brand to South Florida

Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint announced a franchise development agreement with successful entrepreneur and Golden Corral restaurant owner, John Verderame, to open three locations in South Florida. Verderame is part of explosive growth for the fast-casual pizza brand, which has opened 18 locations in less than three years and has an additional 150 units in development.

Verderame will initially open locations in Palm Beach and Broward County, the first Uncle Maddio’s in the area.

However, with advancements in technology and customers’ growing reliance on cell phones and tablets, traditional guest-satisfaction surveys are quickly becoming a thing of the past, replaced by digital versions that can often monitor comments and concerns in real time.

Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint, the original and fastest-growing fast casual pizza chain in North America, announces the opening of its 18th unit on August 17 in East Cobb County at 4101 Roswell Road, Suite 1100 in the Providence Square Home Depot Shopping Center. To celebrate the newest Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint opening, the restaurant will serve free 9-inch, any three topping, fully-customizable pizzas to all customers in line from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. One patron in line will be awarded free pizza for a year.

Uncle Maddio's Hosts Weekly Art Camp for Kids

It’s no secret that kids love pizza. Even the pickiest of eaters will gobble up a slice of cheese and pepperoni. Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint combines kids’ love of pizza with a love for arts and crafts in a free weekly Art Camp for Kids taught by local artisans. Every Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., families who dine at Uncle Maddio’s are invited to bring their kids to the art table and create a project to take home.
