Whataburger Hits Instagram to Celebrate Nat'l Burger Month

Whataburger Restaurants, known for custom-made, always-fresh burgers, will celebrate National Burger Month by hosting an Instagram photo contest.

Fans will be able to enter to win one of four weekly prizes, including Whataburger for a year—a free Whataburger each week for an entire year.

To be eligible to win, fans must be 13 years or older and upload photos via Instagram featuring a designated theme, including the hashtag #Whatagram and also tagging @Whataburger.

Whataburger Crowns Champions in Competition

After six months of intense competition among more than 700 Whataburger restaurants, Whataburger crowned its three “WhataGames” victors in a ceremony last night. Whataburger #790 from San Antonio emerged as the WhataGames 2013 Champion, while Whataburger #669 from Laredo, Texas, took home the Silver medal and Whataburger #982 from Pflugerville, Texas, won the Bronze medal. 

Whataburger Condiments Hit the Shelf at Texas, Mexico H-E-Bs

At the Whataburger Family Convention, a biannual gathering of more than 2,000 Whataburger attendees, CEO Preston Atkinson announced Whataburger will launch into retail sales for the first time by bottling its popular line of condiments—Fancy Ketchup, Spicy Ketchup, and Original Mustard—making them available exclusively at all Texas and Mexico H-E-B stores this summer.

H-E-B will also add a new product based on Whataburger’s iconic brand, called Whatafries.

Whataburger Finalists Compete for Donation in 'Whatagames'

Whataburger announces the 21 restaurants that emerged as finalists in the company's "WhataGames" competition, a unique and spirited contest designed to test the skills of Whataburger team members in three categories: operations, corporate history, and customer service. Whataburger added another twist to the competition - each finalist team has designated a nonprofit organization of their choice, and fans can vote on Whataburger's WhataGames Facebook tab until Thursday, April 18, for that restaurant and its designated nonprofit organization.

McDonald's Has Best Service, Value, Consumers Say

In a recent survey of restaurant customers in the United States, when it comes to identifying what drives loyalty for restaurants, the most commonly cited factors in determining which quick-service restaurant is visited most often are good value (58 percent), convenience (57 percent), low prices (53 percent), and fast service (51 percent).

Great-tasting food is only the eighth-most important factor in driving loyalty in this segment.

Whataburger Celebrates Unsung Heroes with Facebook Contest

This holiday season, Whataburger will honor a series of “Hometown Heroes” who give back to their communities. Honorees will be treated to a hearty breakfast for themselves and 20 close friends. Whataburger Facebook fans are invited to nominate everyday unsung heroes who are making a difference in their local community and deserve to be recognized.

Whataburger Leaders Move on Up with New Promotions

Whataburger announced that six executive team members have been promoted to new leadership roles within the company. These individuals previously held leadership roles at Whataburger and will take on expanded duties and responsibilities in each of their respective positions.

Clifton Rutledge, who has served as Whataburger Restaurants chief operations officer, will take on the new role of senior vice president and COO of Whataburger Restaurants.
