Wingstop Named Preferred Wings Of Miami Hurricanes

Just as football season is heating up, Wingstop and the University of Miami announced that the award-winning chicken wing chain was named the Preferred Wings of the University of Miami Hurricanes.

As a new official partner, University of Miami student, alumni, and fans, will receive exclusive offers and giveaways at the 13 Wingstop restaurants throughout South Florida.

Wingstop will also host a VIP pregame tailgate at the Miami vs FSU showdown in October, as well as co-host the Sideline Club during all home games.

Wingstop Forms Advertising Co-ops in Major Western Markets

To support its rapid expansion, Wingstop has formed advertising cooperatives in Phoenix, San Diego, and Denver, and named DB&M Media as agency of record for the newly created co-ops.

A Los Angeles-based marketing and media firm, DB&M Media will spearhead advertising efforts for Wingstop restaurants in Phoenix, San Diego, and Denver, including television, online, social campaigns, and sports sponsorships.

Wingstop Same-Store Sales Up 12.6 Percent in Q2

Wingstop announced today that same-store sales for the second quarter are up 12.6 percent over the same quarter last year and 11.5 percent for the year to date.

“The popularity of chicken wings is bigger than ever,” says Charlie Morrison, who was named Wingstop president and CEO last month. “At a time when many concepts are scrambling to add chicken and wings to the menu, we have been perfecting the wing and fresh, made-to-order chicken for almost two decades–we are the Wing Experts.”

Wingstop Franchisee Plans Three Locations in Virginia

Neil Frank is saying goodbye to corporate America, and hello to wings.

Frank, a former strategic marketing manager/software engineer, has decided to trade in his corporate badge and become his own boss, with plans to open three Wingstop locations in Virginia. He hopes to open his first Wingstop in Fairfax County this fall.

Frank recently signed a three-store development agreement with Wingstop, the rapidly expanding wing chain with 515 locations, after moving to Ashburn, Virginia, from San Jose, California.

Wingstop celebrated the accomplishments of five talented Dallas-Fort Worth high school athletes with a special reception and awards presentation at the KTVT-TV CBS studios in Fort Worth on June 7.

The Richardson, Texas-based wing chain honored student athletes throughout the semester during its High School Scholar Athlete of the Month program. Since then, five athletes from around D-FW high schools received recognition in the program’s inaugural year.
