Purchasing Specialist Joins Zoup!’s Soup Team

Zoup! Fresh Soup Company, a leader in the soup segment of the fast-casual industry, has named Clyde Manion as purchasing specialist. With more than 30 years of experience in the food industry, Manion is joining the Zoup! corporate team and will be accountable for vendor relationships, including product consistency across distributors and purchasing. 

CEOs Miss What Motivates their Team

According to a new survey by ExecuNet Inc., a professional network for C-level executives, non-CEO C-suite members cite work-life balance, their work location, and relationships with coworkers and subordinates as motivation for their jobs.

CEOs, however, seem to believe that cash compensation, liking the actual work they do, and trust with the company’s owner are motivating factors. This apparent disconnect in how CEOs and C-level executives approach their jobs, some insiders say, could have a big impact on overall business operations.

Bigger Isn’t Always Better

The recent debacle over Toyota’s recalls tells a cautionary tale about growth for all companies, including quick serves.

The leaders at the carmaker were accused of relentlessly pursuing market share increases at the expense of product quality. In testimony to a U.S. congressional panel, Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda himself admitted, “Toyota’s priority has traditionally been the following: first, safety; second, quality; and third, volume. ... These became confused.”
