Au Bon Pain, known for its units in urban markets, airports, hospitals, malls, and college campuses, will open a new suburban prototype in Woburn, Massashusetts.on August 10. Named The Bistro by Au Bon Pain, the 5,000 square-foot Woburn restaurant will feature a broader menu and a warmer, more comfortable interior design.

“We want to be a favorite local restaurant,” said Au Bon Pain President/CEO Sue Morelli. “Consumers know us as a quick bite-on-the-run location. Our new Bistro concept slows down the pace, to serve people all day long, not just at breakfast and lunch.”

To complement Au Bon Pain’s salads, wraps, soups and stews, The Bistro will feature a special menu of dinner fare:
Bistro Bowls, pasta or rice topped with fresh vegetables and steak, chicken, salmon, shrimp or veggie burgers, grilled over an open flame; Pizzetta, naan flatbread, topped with flavorful, fresh ingredients; three different penne dishes and Au Bon Pain’s popular Macaroni & Cheese; and hot paninis and melts.

The Bistro will also feature a full espresso bar, complete with cappuccinos, lattes, and caramel or mocha flavors to compliment the existing line of coffees. All available hot or iced. There will also be a full line of premium teas as well as smoothies and Frozen Blasts.

In addition to Au Bon Pain’s baked goods, breakfast sandwiches, and healthy breakfast options like fruit and yogurt, The Bistro will also offer freshly made-to-order Country breakfast platters featuring eggs with bacon, ham or sausage, red-skinned potatoes and toast; buttermilk pancakes;omelets, and oatmeal.

The new restaurant is designed to be more welcoming. Featuring an open kitchen, warm colors, complementary woods and tiles, inviting fabrics and soft lighting, the interior will encourage customers to relax and linger.
