BGR The Burger Joint has been selected as a wild card entry to compete in the World Burger Championship at the World Food Championships (WFC) in Las Vegas on Friday, November 2, 2012.

The WFC, hosted by Travel Channel personality Adam Richman, is the highest-stakes food competition in the world.

Taking place at Bally’s, Paris, and Caesar’s Palace on November 1–4, the culinary showdown will feature the best of the best squaring off for $300,000 in prize money and the title of World Food Champion.

WFC will feature competitors squaring off in multiple food categories over the course of the four-day event, with each category champion advancing to a “Final Table” to crown the World Food Champion.

“We have a great opportunity to bring home the World’s Best Burger title,” says Mark Bucher, founder of BGR The Burger Joint. “We will be entering our Wellington Burger, which has received critical praise all across the United States, and we know once the judges try it, we will be hard to beat.”

The World Burger Championship, presented by A1 Steak Sauce, will take place on Friday, November 2.

Winners of burger competitions from around the country will compete, as well as five wild card selections and five winners of an online contest.

The burger contest features a $25,000 purse. The grand champion will take home $10,000 and earn the right to compete with other category champions for the title of World Food Champion.
