Big Al’s Steaks, the traditional Philadelphia Cheesesteak sandwich franchise, is coming to the Portland, Oregon, suburb of Tualatin this month.

This location will be the first Big Al’s Steaks location outside of the state of Florida and is a major step toward Big Al’s Steaks’ planned growth.
“We couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity to bring our authentic Philly Cheesesteaks to the Portland area.” says cofounder and CEO, Dr. Alan (Big Al) Costilo. “Opening our first location outside of Florida is a big step, but we believe that our franchisee, Roman Petkevicius, is the perfect person to ensure that our brand identity and uncompromising levels of cleanliness and quality are upheld.”

Petkevicius, his wife Linda, and their son Max will open their first Big Al’s Steaks franchise location in the Nyberg Woods Shopping Center on August 10, 2012. They will offer Big Al’s Steaks’ Authentic Philly Fare featuring Philadelphia Cheesesteaks that are made only with thinly sliced Ribeye steak and authentic Italian steak rolls, which are brought in directly from Philadelphia.

By offering cheesesteak sandwiches, along with other items you would expect to find in a neighborhood steak sandwich shop in Philadelphia, Big Al’s Steaks has found a way to bring the Philadelphia dining experience to South Florida and is looking forward to bringing that experience to neighborhoods throughout America.
