Canadian burger chain Big Smoke Burger has leased its first New York location at 70 Seventh Avenue, between West 14th and West 15th Streets in Chelsea.

The location, which had been occupied by the previous tenant for 20 years, includes 1,000 square feet on the ground floor, 500 square feet in the basement, and 880 square feet in an outdoor courtyard. Winick Realty Group’s Alexander Hill and Jonathan Banayan represented landlord Group 868 Inc. in the transaction.

This is a great location to launch Big Smoke Burger in the New York market,” Hill says. “This area of Chelsea is growing rapidly and with the 1, 2, 3 subway stop right nearby, the storefront is going to get seven-day foot traffic.”

Big Smoke Burger, who plans to open the restaurant in the next four months, was represented by Ross Berkowitz of RKF.
