Big Smoke Burger, the Toronto-based gourmet burger chain, opened this summer on 7th Ave in New York City, expanding on its existing U.S. franchise presence.

Marking the brand’s second location in the U.S.—Big Smoke Burger opened in Denver in 2013—and 13th location worldwide, Big Smoke Burger is expanding across Canada, the U.S., and the Middle East through a combination of company and franchise owned stores.

Big Smoke Burger is a dominant better-burger chain in Canada, owned by restaurant veteran Mustafa Yusuf. The menu offers open-flame grilled beef burgers, hand-cut fries, traditional Canadian poutine, and healthy protein alternatives like veggie, chicken, and lamb burgers, as well as signature sauces to give every burger distinctive flavor.

The arrival of Big Smoke Burger has already created some local buzz in New York City. Big Smoke Burger is franchising with the help of partner Fransmart, the franchise development company behind the growth of brands like Five Guys Burgers & Fries and Qdoba Mexican Grill.
