Eight employees and two children of employees at company- and franchise-owned Bojangles’ have been named the recipients of $1,000 academic scholarships in honor of Bojangles’ co-founder Jack Fulk, who passed away earlier this year.
The 10 recipients of the inaugural Jack Fulk Scholarships are:
- Jasmine Black, High Point, North Carolina
- Hannah Brooks, Clemmons, North Carolina
- Tera Freeman, Marietta, Georgia
- Rachel Frye, Ooltewah, Tennessee
- Darris Jones, Raleigh, North Carolina
- Andrena McCants, Columbia, South Carolina
- Steven McDuffie, Greenwood, South Carolina
- Samantha Pavalko, Reading, Pennsylvania
- Kelsey Schlabra, Woodstock, Georgia
- Colin Williams, Raleigh, North Carolina
“Bojangles’ is honored to provide these team members and their families with the chance to further their education,” says Bojangles’ President and CEO Randy Kibler. “We know Jack would be proud of the educational opportunities this program will provide for Bojangles’ employees for years to come.”
The scholarships are available to all Bojangles’ teammates and their immediate family members. Bojangles’ selected 24 finalists from the applications submitted, and the top 10 were selected at random from the pool of finalists.
David Arrington, who has been a Bojangles’ franchisee for 16 years, had the honor of drawing 10 names as members of Bojangles’ leadership team looked on. Each of the $1,000 scholarships awarded this month will be used toward tuition for the academic semester that begins in January.
