For the entire month of October, the Bullritos franchise, located throughout Texas, Louisiana, and Georgia, raised funds for St. Jude Children’s and Research Hospital.

The family-friendly, fast-casual burrito joint asked patrons to donate $1 to St. Jude. Each donation was marked with a Pinup Pumpkin featuring that patron’s name, which was then placed on the restaurant’s wall. At the end of the month, Bullritos had collected $10,469 for the organization.

Additionally, Bullritos’ predecessor and Tex-Mex favorite, Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen Group, participated in the drive and collected $23,897, surpassing its goal of $12,400 ($1,550 per store) and bringing the total donations to $34,366.

The money donated to St. Jude will go toward subsidizing patient costs and furthering research efforts to combat childhood cancer.

“We can’t thank the people at Bullritos and Gringo’s Mexican Kitchen enough for their tireless advocacy of St. Jude,” says Susannah Causey, senior event marketing representative at St. Jude Children’s and Research Hospital. “It is community effort like this that not only helps raise much needed monetary support for our organization, but also helps spread awareness about our research and treatment.”

“We’ve never joined forces on such a grand scale before,” says Bullritos Marketing Director Heather McKeon. “We’re proud of our patrons, our associates, and our entire franchise for banding together and accomplishing such a major goal for such a wonderful organization.”
