Burger King Corp. announced on Friday that it has chosen Coca-Cola Co. as its approved soft drink supplier in international markets.

The deal places Coca-Cola and its products in approximately 3,000 Burger King units in 54 states. Financial details were not disclosed.

“With this renewed alliance, the Coca-Cola Co. helps to grow the Burger King brand aggressively and successfully by offering the best burger experience to our consumers in each of our restaurants around the globe,” Andre Lacroix, president of Burger King International said.

In a related announcement on Friday, Burger King Corp. revealed that it has named PepsiCo Inc.’s Aquafina as the exclusive bottled water for its 8,000+ U.S. stores.

“The Burger King International piece is a substantial amount of volume and the Aquafina piece means that Pepsi has made an inroad into one of the Coke Fountain division’s major accounts,” said John Sicher, editor of Beverage Digest, told reporters.
