CaliBurger announced it has signed an agreement to open restaurants in Sweden.  The first restaurant is expected to open in Stockholm later this year. The local franchisee operates hotels, ice cream shops, and other quick-service chains in Sweden. CaliBurger’s newly formed European regional management team, based in London, will provide ongoing support and assistance to build the brand in Sweden.

With nearly ten million people, Sweden has historically been a strong market for burger concepts. Yet, none of the famous better-burger brands in America have entered the market. CaliBurger Sweden will develop multiple units in Stockholm before expanding to other cities.

CaliBurger was established by a group of entrepreneurs from California who set out to bring California-inspired burgers and chicken sandwiches to the rest of the world.  CaliBurger’s products feature 100-percent lean grass-fed beef, top-grade chicken, vegetables, zero trans-fat oils, sauces made in house, and hand-mixed shakes. Its made-to-order meals are prepared in open kitchens, and the restaurants incorporate advanced technologies to create a unique dining experience. CaliBurger customers can enjoy a taste of California in an environment that looks, smells, and feels like California.
