Caribou Coffee, the nation’s second largest coffeehouse chain, is offering guests a newly expanded line of beverages with 40 percent fewer calories. Caribou’s new Northern Lite beverages include mochas, lattes, tea lattes, and blended drinks and are available at all Caribou Coffee locations beginning April 11.

The new beverage lineup includes Caribou’s first ever lite mocha, made with real, premium milk, dark or white chocolate, and non-fat whip. All of Caribou’s chocolate-based beverages continue to be handcrafted using all-natural chocolate.

“Northern Lite beverages are the perfect way to enjoy a little indulgence,” says Alfredo Martel, senior vice president of marketing and product management for Caribou Coffee. “The new Northern Lite mocha is a chocolate lover’s dream come true. With 40 percent fewer calories—but still made with real chocolate—it’s hard to even taste the difference.”

For those who like exploring new beverage options, guests at Caribou can always customize their orders. Guests can make sure their favorite beverage is always made specifically to taste with options such as sugar-free syrup, skim or soy milk, no whip, or the new non-fat whip. And, Caribou is so confident guests will love the taste of their new Northern Lites that they’ve implemented the “love it lite or we’ll remake it” guarantee.

“We’re so excited to be able to offer our specialty beverages with fewer calories,” Martel says. “Now guests can love it lite while still enjoying 100 percent of the taste Caribou’s premium beverages have always offered.”

In addition, Caribou’s Happy Monday promotion will return to celebrate the launch of Northern Lites. Every Monday now through May 30, guests can enjoy a breakfast sandwich for only $2, as well as any medium Northern Lite beverage for just $3. And, as always, guests can receive an additional 50 cents off their beverage with the use of reusable drinkware as part of Caribou’s Sustainability Perks program.
