Carl’s Jr. introduced a sweet-and-salty spin on its Hand-Scooped Ice Cream Shakes and Malts lineup with the arrival of its new Sea Salt & Caramel Shake. Featuring hand-scooped vanilla ice cream blended with caramel syrup and topped with sea salt toffee crumbles and whipped cream, the new Sea Salt & Caramel Shake is available at all participating Carl’s Jr. locations.

“Since we first introduced Hand-Scooped Ice Cream Shakes & Malts in 2005, we’ve continued to look for the most interesting new flavors we could serve to our guests,” says Brad Haley, chief marketing officer for Carl’s Jr. “Salted caramel started to emerge very recently as a popular flavor at premium ice cream shops around the country, so we were excited to see how it worked in a shake. When we served it to our executive team and our franchisees earlier this year, the consensus was that it was one of the best-tasting shakes they had ever had and I have to agree. We start with our hard-packed, premium vanilla ice cream that we scoop by hand, blend it with a rich caramel syrup and toffee crumbles coated in sea salt, and then top it off with whipped cream. That little bit of a salty bite from the sea salt really brings out the full flavor of rich, buttery caramel and is truly a uniquely delicious combination.”

Carl’s Jr. also sweetened things up at breakfast by serving the new Strawberry Biscuit. The fruit-filled breakfast item features sliced strawberries in strawberry syrup served on top of a warm buttermilk biscuit and drizzled with white icing.

The new Sea Salt & Caramel Shake is available as a regular shake or malt for $2.99. The new Made from Scratch Strawberry Biscuit is available individually for $0.99, as a 2-pack for $1.79, or as a small combo with Hash Rounds and choice of drink for $2.49. Prices may vary by location.
