Charge That Mac
The Wall Street Journal today is reporting that McDonald’s plans to begin accepting credit cards at locations nationwide sometime in 2003.
Although other chains and some franchises have experimented with plastic payment, McDonald’s will be the first to institute its use nationwide. With the nation’s powerhouse QSR making this move, others are sure to follow suit.
Credit card acceptance adds a convenient option for the increasing numbers of persons who charge virtually everything. From an operations point-of-view, current processing hardware and software make card payment more efficient than cash.
