Chicken Salad Chick is scheduled to open its second franchise in Florida on July 30, 2013, in Destin.
The Destin owners, Mark Singletary and Lauryn and Cope Smith, have been loyal fans of the brand and wanted to bring it to Destin following on the heels of successful franchise launches in Valdosta, Georgia, and Tallahassee, Florida, in early 2013.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to get in on the ground floor and be part of what will undoubtedly be tremendous growth of the Chicken Salad Chick concept,” Singletary says. “Getting to live and work in Destin is a dream come true, and I am so excited to start training our Destin team members next week. I know that our new friends and neighbors are going to fall in love with Chicken Salad Chick at first taste.”
The Chicken Salad Chick concept was established in Auburn, Alabama, in 2008 in the kitchen of founder Stacy Brown. Together with her husband Kevin, she opened a small takeout restaurant, which quickly grew to additional locations.
The concept offers customers a “custom-fit” chicken salad experience, with 15 original flavors to choose from, as well as gourmet soups, side salads, and freshly baked desserts.
Chicken Salad Chick has sold 63 franchises to be developed across the states of Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina, and has plans to expand nationally in the coming years.
“We have experienced increasing customer demand for Chicken Salad Chick since the opening of our first takeout restaurant,” Stacy Brown says. “We are surprised and honored that our customers want to own their own Chicken Salad Chick, and it only gives us affirmation that we are touching lives. And that is our goal every day.”
Kevin Brown, president of Chicken Salad Chick, says, “The Destin restaurant is perfect for us to showcase our brand to both our loyal customers, who have been waiting for us to come to town, and those who have yet to enjoy the Chicken Salad Chick experience. This location, along with our other stores that have opened in the past six months, represent a very exciting time in the young life of our company.”
