Jake’s Wayback Burgers announced that it will kick off its 4th Annual Chowdown Showdown Road Tour, which will be held August 2 to 12, and will host burger-eating qualifying rounds at 11 of its restaurants, all to start at 4 p.m. The winner of each qualifying round will be eligible to participate in the Grand Finale at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington, Delaware, on August 12 at 10 p.m. The winner of the 4th Annual Chowdown Showdown will be awarded with a cash prize of $2,000, second place $1,000, and third place $500. The qualifying rounds will take place at the following Jake’s Wayback Burgers locations:
8/2 – 811 E. Baltimore Pike, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania;
8/3 – 807 N. Pottstown Pike, Exton, Pennsylvania;
8/4 – 4403 Southmont Way, Unit 1, Easton, Pennsylvania;
8/5 –320 East Elm Street, Torrington, Connecticut;
8/6 –185 Boston Post Road, Orange, Connecticut;
8/7 – 1375 Carew Street, Springfield, Massachusetts;
8/8 – 5288 Sunrise Highway, Massapequa, New York;
8/9 –568 West Main Street, Middletown, Delaware;
8/10 – 26670 Centerview Drive, Unit 7, Millsboro, Delaware;
8/11 –1100 Ogletown Rd. (Rt. 273), Newark, Delaware;
8/12 – Grand Finale at Frawley Stadium, 801 Shipyard Dr., Wilmington, Delaware.
Additionally, to qualify, amateur and professional eaters will race to devour five Jake Burgers in the fastest time possible. At the Grand Finale, participants will have eight minutes to chow down as many Jake Burgers as they can. Entry fee is $20 per qualifying round. Registration deadline is July 31.
