Corner Bakery Heads to Oregon

Corner Bakery Café announced its entry into Oregon, with the addition of franchise partner NW Ventures, led by multi-restaurant operator Luis Boyance. As the operator of more than 138 Burger King franchises in Oregon and Mexico, as well as two TGI Fridays in Mexico, NW Ventures joins Corner Bakery Café as its 32nd franchise partner, with plans to open 12 neighborhood cafes in the state of Oregon and Vancouver, Washington.

“As a leader in the franchising industry, Luis Boyance and NW Ventures exemplify the ideal partner we look for when growing our brand across the country,” says Gregg Koffler, vice president of franchise sales for Corner Bakery Café. “With Luis’ extensive footprint in Oregon, including 68 Burger King locations, coupled with consumer demand for Corner Bakery Cafe, we know that Luis’ market understanding will drive growth and excitement for the brand as we enter the state of Oregon in 2015.”

According to Technomic Inc., the $34.5 billion fast-casual restaurant segment is the fastest-growing segment of the restaurant industry this year. Exceeding expansion goals, Corner Bakery Café has also seen growth in 2014, with 55 locations currently in development and franchise development commitments for more than 365 additional cafes.

“With 22 years of experience as a restaurant operator, I knew after my visit to Corner Bakery Café that the concept would flourish in the state of Oregon," Boyance says. “Corner Bakery Café’s exceptionally innovative menu and welcoming neighborhood atmosphere reflects the tastes and values of the Portland community and other consumers throughout the state. And as a franchisee, I can honestly say that the leadership team is the best in its industry.”

Corner Bakery Café continues to seek multiunit franchise partners to expand into additional franchise territories across the country.
