Costa Vida, known for its Baja-inspired, always-fresh meals, announced today its participation in the Mom It Forward for Kenya fundraiser to help reduce poverty in Kenya. Customers present the Mom It Forward invitation at participating Costa Vidas on Saturday April 18, 2009 from 11am-7pm, and Costa Vida will donate 20 percent of your total purchase to help fight poverty in Kenya. Coupon can be downloaded and printed out from www.momitforwardprovo.eventbrite.com.

Mom It Forward is a growing community of women–both on and offline–who share a passion for making a difference. The Mom It Forward mission is “to change the world one mom at a time”. Proceeds from the group’s latest fundraiser will support Yehu Microfinance, a micro-lending bank that gives women in small African villages the financial means to start a small income-producing activity, such as coconut-oil extraction or raising chickens, and provide for their families.

“Costa Vida believes in giving back, and we are excited to be a part of this exceptional fundraiser,” says Nathan Gardner, CEO of Costa Vida. “We just want to do our part to help fight worldwide poverty. We support Yehu’s method of combating poverty by providing the skills and financial loans necessary to empower rural entrepreneurs.”

Want to get involved? Join Mom It Forward at the Costa Vida Provo location from 5:30 to 7:00 pm to raise funds for the cause and enjoy a presentation on how Twitter is being leveraged worldwide to create positive change. If you can’t make it to Provo, simply enjoy a delicious Costa Vida meal at participating Utah locations and help make an impact. To donate directly to this cause go to www.momitforward.com or www.yehu.org. The fundraiser closes on Tuesday, May 12.
