Cousins Subs Makes it Better with New Foundation

Cousins Subs restaurants has established The Make It Better Foundation to improve the welfare and quality of life in the communities Cousins Subs serves.

"Cousins Subs has a longstanding tradition of commitment to the communities we serve," says Christine Specht, president and COO at Cousins Subs. "We have supported a multitude of causes and organizations throughout our 40-year history. By establishing The Make It Better Foundation, we hope we can do even more."

The Make It Better Foundation has established three areas of interest it believes are vital to any community: health and wellness, hunger, and youth education.

Interested nonprofit and community organizations can visit the brand's website to find out more information on eligibility and how to apply. Completed applications will be reviewed, and grants announced, on a quarterly basis.

"I'm pleased to announced that The Make It Better Foundation's good work has already begun," Specht says. "We awarded four $500 scholarships to Milwaukee Area Technical College students for their photography contributions used to create a Foundation display for viewing in each Cousins Subs locations.

"In addition, we are sponsoring the Wisconsin Sports Awards Scholarship Competition, which honors outstanding high school student athletes. We will provide scholarship awards totaling $12,000 to qualified seniors," she continues. "Our slogan is 'Better bread. Better subs. Better day,' and we take it seriously. We believe that as an organization and as individuals, we have the ability and the duty to make it better, every day."
