Midwest-based Culver's Restaurant chain will establish its first restaurant in South Carolina–and its first on the East Coast–this summer with an opening in Greenville.

A second restaurant is planned for Fort Mill, South Carolina, in 2013.

The restaurant will be operated by Jim and Heather Clark of Greenville.

"This is a dream come true for me, personally," says Clark, who has lived in Greenville the last 11 years. "I'm a native Midwesterner and have always been a big fan of Culver's and its reputation for food quality and hospitality. I've always dreamed of operating a Culver's franchise and bringing it to Greenville. Now it's really happening!"

South Carolina will be the 20th state for the chain.
