To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic Chips Ahoy! cookie and satisfy the most discriminate chocolate cravings, the Dairy Queen system, a Berkshire Hathaway company, debuts the new Chips Ahoy! Blizzard Treat as the August Blizzard of the Month.

This marks the first time Chips Ahoy! has partnered with a quick-service restaurant to offer a product with the famous cookie. Available at participating Dairy Queen and DQ Grill & Chill restaurants nationwide beginning July 28 and throughout the month of August, the new Chips Ahoy! Blizzard Treat is a blend of Chips Ahoy! chocolate chip cookies, chocolate topping, choco chunks, and DQ vanilla soft serve.

The Chips Ahoy! Blizzard Treat is available in four sizes, including the Mini, and also can be served in a waffle cone.

“Chocolate chip cookies are a universal fan favorite,” says Barry Westrum, executive vice president of marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ). “We’ve blended the world’s best-selling chocolate chip cookie with our signature soft serve to create an innovative and decadent new Blizzard Treat.”

Many Blizzard Treat flavors, including Chips Ahoy!, can easily be made into DQ Cakes.

The Dairy Queen system began blending simple combinations of cookies, chocolates, nuts, fruits, and candies with DQ soft serve in 1985 to create the signature Blizzard Treat. The iconic treat has created the served upside-down Blizzard culture and, since then, one-of-a-kind flavors such as Chocolate Candy Shop and Confetti Cake have delighted Dairy Queen fans as part of the featured Blizzard of the Month program, which began in 2003.
