America’s Egg Farmers and Denny’s have partnered to help fight childhood hunger in the U.S. Beginning today and running through September 15, for every “Build Your Own Omelette” purchased from the new limited time #BYOomelette menu, America’s Egg Farmers will donate one egg on behalf of Denny’s guests to one of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry food distribution partners.

As America’s Diner, Denny’s is the perfect partner to help in our efforts to provide breakfast to hungry children,” says American Egg Board president and CEO, Joanne C. Ivy. “We encourage everyone to visit their local Denny’s and show their support for this incredibly worthwhile cause.”

We’re delighted to join forces with America’s Egg Farmers on such an important issue affecting children across the country,” says Denny’s CEO John Miller. “Through our partnership, and the incredibly generous donations from the organization and our guests, we hope to raise greater awareness and relief for childhood hunger.”

The promotion offers guests the opportunity to help others while helping themselves to a Build-Your-Own Omelette, customizable with a choice of more than twenty ingredients. Fans are encouraged to Tweet photos of their omelettes as they help fight childhood hunger in America. Throughout the week a Dennys.com ticker will track the increasing number of eggs to be donated, which is anticipated to approach 500,000.

Egg farmers have participated in many promotions over the years, often through an egg industry initiative called The Good Egg Project. As part of this program, America’s egg farmers have donated more than 48 million eggs to local food banks since 2009.
