Dickey’s Pins Down Winner of Pinterest Contest

Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants announced that Jamelyn Pulse of The Colony is the winner of its Pinterest contest, Smokin' Pin Wins. The world's largest barbecue franchise launched its Pinterest brand page earlier this year and fired up the contest asking Dickey's barbecue fanatics to post photos and recipes using any Dickey's meat or sides in a contest called "Smokin' Pin Wins."

"The contest was a lot of fun and a great way to roll out our presence on Pinterest," says Joette Young, director of marketing for Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. "Dickey's fans were very creative using our ingredients and also with the pictures they submitted."

Pulse submitted a Shepherd's Pot Pie using Dickey's chopped brisket and baked potato casserole. Roland Dickey, Jr., president of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc., reviewed the top submission and ultimately chose Pulse as the winner.

Pulse won a year of free barbecue that can be redeemed at any Dickey's Barbecue Restaurant in the United States. Her recipe and photo will be featured on the company's Pinterest site.

"My husband loves shepherd's pie and so I just substituted some of my ingredients with Dickey's barbecue and added a puffed pastry to make it a little fancier. I thought it turned out great," Pulse says. "I can't wait to enjoy Dickey's barbecue free for a year!"
