Doc Popcorn opened its first location in Puerto Rico. The new PopKiosk location, which began operations this past weekend, is located at Plaza Rio Hondo in Bayamón.

Husband-and-wife franchise partners Angel Diaz and Miriam Rosado, along with their business partners, Jorge Marcano and Alicia Fernandez, plan to open a total of three Doc Popcorn units in Puerto Rico over the next few years.

“There’s a big appetite oversees for Doc Popcorn from both investors and consumers alike,” says Rob Israel, cofounder of Doc Popcorn. “We’re thrilled to partner with such talented and passionate business professionals like Angel, Miriam, Jorge, and Alicia to introduce our tasty, better-for-you snack for the first time in the Caribbean.”

This opening follows Doc Popcorn’s recent expansion into Mexico that plans to bring 60 new units to the country. Domestically, Doc Popcorn has experienced steady growth since it began franchising in 2009 and holds the title as the largest popcorn retailer in the world with approximately 80 units in 25 states.
