Doc Popcorn is Popping for Pink This October

In conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month and National Popcorn Poppin’ Month this October, Doc Popcorn is partnering with the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) during its annual Popping for Pink fundraising campaign.

Breast cancer affects so many people’s lives, and as a franchise system we are trying to help in any way we can – and in this case – popping for a meaningful cause,” says Renée Israel, co-founder and Mama Pop of Doc Popcorn. “We are proud to partner with the National Breast Cancer Foundation this year to raise breast cancer awareness as the hunt for a cure continues.”

During the month of October, Doc Popcorn Guests at participating locations who donate $1 to NBCF will receive a $1 off coupon to use on their next purchase. Using high-quality natural ingredients, Doc Popcorn offers a wide variety of fresh-popped gourmet flavors of popcorn, from Sweet Butter and Klassic Kettle to Cheesy Cheddar and Hoppin’ Jalapeño.

"We are thrilled to have Doc Popcorn as an official partner this October," says Janelle Hail, founder and CEO of NBCF. "Through the donations we receive from the Popping for Pink program, we will offer free mammograms for under-served women around the country."

According to the American Cancer Society, the probability of a woman being diagnosed with breast cancer during her lifetime is about 1 in 8. In 2012, donations helped the NBCF provide 25,681 free mammograms to women in need.
