DQ Kicks Off the New Year with Chocolate Candy Shop Blizzard
Chocoholics will ring in the New Year delectable bite by delectable bite when the Dairy Queen system brings back one of its most popular Blizzard Treats with Chocolate Candy Shop as the January Blizzard of the Month.
An indulgent combination of assorted mini chocolates filled with hazelnut crème, fudge, and caramel blended with dark, decadent cocoa fudge and creamy DQ vanilla soft serve, the Chocolate Candy Shop Blizzard Treat is available at all Dairy Queen and DQ Grill & Chill restaurants nationwide throughout January.
Dairy Queen customers can enjoy Chocolate Candy Shop Blizzard Treats in four sizes, including the popular Mini.
“What better way to start off the New Year than with one of our Blizzard Treats that literally turns the crave-ability scale upside-down,” says Barry Westrum, executive vice president of marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation (ADQ).
“All of our Blizzard Treats are so thick they can be served upside-down,” he continues. “We continue to delight our customers with treat options they love, and with so many classic flavors blended into one amazing Blizzard Treat, Chocolate Candy Shop is just one more irresistible innovation from the Dairy Queen system.”
Many Blizzard Treat flavors, including Chocolate Candy Shop, easily can be made into DQ Cakes, which are perfect for celebrating holidays and special events including birthdays, anniversaries, and more.
The Dairy Queen system began blending simple combinations of candies, cookies, fruits, and nuts with DQ soft serve in 1985 to create the signature Blizzard Treat.
The iconic treat has created the served-upside-down Blizzard culture and since then, one-of-a-kind flavors such as Triple Chocoholic, Midnight Truffle, and Confetti Cake have delighted Dairy Queen fans as part of the featured Blizzard of the Month program, which began in 2003.
The incredible popularity of the Blizzard brand is what led the Dairy Queen system to initiate the Blizzard Fan Club in 2005 and the Dairy Queen Facebook fan page in 2008.
Today, the Fan Club is 4.4 million members strong, while the DQ Facebook fan page has more than 5.3 million friends.
