The Dairy Queen system raised more than $5 million to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals during the 6th Annual DQ Miracle Treat Day.

On that day, participating Dairy Queen and DQ Grill & Chill restaurants throughout North America donated $1 or more from every Blizzard Treat sold to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which raises funds for 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada.

Since 1984, the Dairy Queen system has raised more than $90 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

"Miracle Treat Day has become a celebrated event in communities in the United States and Canada and we really appreciate the support and generosity of our customers and our entire Dairy Queen family in helping children and their families face and overcome incredible odds," says John Gainor, president and CEO of International Dairy Queen, Inc.

"We are so proud that every year our fundraising efforts grow, not only on Miracle Treat Day, but with the Miracle Balloon campaign and other local initiatives in which our franchisees participate throughout the year in all of our locations across the United States and Canada."

The Dairy Queen system is one of the top ten contributors to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and will host the 7th Annual DQ Miracle Treat Day on Thursday, July 26, 2012.
