DQ Tries to Score with Heisman Winner as Operator

The Dairy Queen system, part of Berkshire Hathaway, invites Heisman Trophy–winner Johnny Manziel to add another title to his name: Dairy Queen operator.
The Texas A&M quarterback recently appeared on the “Late Show with David Letterman,” where Letterman advised him to quit the team, leave college, and open a Dairy Queen restaurant.
“While the Dairy Queen system does not advocate quitting college, we welcome Johnny to try his hand at working in one of our restaurants any time,” says Barry Westrum, executive vice president of marketing for American Dairy Queen Corporation.
“He would certainly be one of our most famous operators and could follow in the footsteps of another sports celebrity, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, who managed a Coppell, Texas, Dairy Queen restaurant for a day back in 2002,” he adds. “He was called Johnny Football, now he’s Johnny Heisman. We’re ready to call him Johnny DQ.”
There are more than 4,500 Dairy Queen restaurants located throughout the United States, including one in College Station, Texas, where Manziel attends college.
