Dunkin' Donuts Signs Sizzling Development Deal in Utah
Dunkin’ Donuts announced the signing of a multiunit store development agreement with existing franchisee Sizzling Donuts for 16 new restaurants in Salt Lake City, Utah.
The first restaurant is planned to open in 2013, and the remainder will open by 2018.
In February 2012, Sizzling Platter formed the subsidiary Sizzling Donuts and signed its first multiunit agreement with Dunkin’ Donuts to develop 11 new restaurants in Denver and eight new restaurants in El Paso, Texas, over the next several years.
“We are excited to expand Dunkin’ Donuts’ presence in Salt Lake City and play an important role in the daily lives of people who live, work, and visit here,” says Mitchell Lowe, Sizzling Platter’s general counsel and vice president of development. “We have a passion and loyalty for the brand and look forward to the opening of our Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the years to come.”
Franchise opportunities are still available in in Northern Utah and Reno, Nevada.
To drive its expansion efforts, Dunkin’ Donuts has aligned its strategy to support the growth opportunities and consumer needs of individual markets. As a result, the company continues to expand with single and multiunit opportunities with no minimum unit requirements.
“We are excited to be part of the expansion westward with the Dunkin’ Donuts brand,“ says Ted Morton, president/CEO of Sizzling Platter. “We believe Dunkin’ Donuts is a perfect fit for the Salt Lake community”.
Building a solid network of stores within a market enables Dunkin’ Donuts to invest in a distribution model that provides consistent, high-quality products that guests expect.
In an effort to keep the brand fresh and competitive, Dunkin’ Donuts offers flexible concepts for any real estate format, including free-standing restaurants, end caps, in-line sites, gas and convenience, travel plazas, universities, as well as other retail environments.
“Our secret to success is our passionate franchisees who provide a high level of customer service to our guests every day,” says Grant Benson, CFE, vice president of development, Dunkin’ Brands. “We’re proud to be expanding west in Salt Lake City with Sizzling Platter, an existing Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee. We believe that they will cultivate lasting customer relationships and become an integral part of the local community.”
