Elevation Burger, the rapidly growing, national fast-casual restaurant known for its 100 percent organic, grass-fed, free-range burgers, has been named a member of the prestigious Organic Trade Association (OTA).
The Organic Trade Association is the membership-based business association for the organic industry in North America. OTA member companies qualify by offering certified organic products or support services that serve the organic industry business.
As one of the organization’s approximately 1,100 members, Elevation Burger joins such recognizable organic brands as Aveda Corporation, Annie’s Inc., Stonyfield Farm, Amy’s Kitchen, and Whole Foods Market.
“We are honored to represent the fast-casual sector within the Organic Trade Association,” says founder and CEO Hans Hess. “We look forward to working with OTA’s extensive network to continue to bring organic products to the masses.”
Elevation Burger prides itself on an “elevated” experience and a fresh approach that puts people and product ahead of profit. The franchised chain offers many healthier alternatives to standard fast-food choices, including two variations of a veggie burger, lettuce-wrapped burgers, unprocessed six-month aged Cheddar cheese, and cookies made with organic butter and eggs.
Elevation Burger also features organic, hardwood-smoked uncured bacon on its menu.
Elevation Burger has been recognized by Saveur magazine as the nation's first organic hamburger chains since opening its original location in 2005.
It has been recognized as one of the most innovative burger chains in the country, with AOL Small Business calling Elevation Burger the “Next Big Chain,” and The Food Channel dubbing it one of the “up and comers” in the emerging better-burger category.
OTA’s mission is to promote and protect organic trade to benefit the environment, farmers, the public, and the economy, and envisions organic products becoming a significant part of everyday life, enhancing lives and the environment.
Representing businesses across the organic supply chain and addressing all things organic—including food, fiber/textiles, and personal care products—approximately 60 percent of OTA trade members are small businesses.
Of the 35 Elevation Burger locations, 29 are located in the United States, and six are located internationally.
